The seven-touch email sequence for LWD's launch week (1 October → 9 October 2026). Each touch has an audience, an owner, a shared-gate signer, and a body scaffold ready for Corrina to finalise on the Monday before send-day.
Who this is for. Corrina drafts and sends. Carla signs the compliance envelope on any send citing Y1 numbers. Lisa signs the founding-donor cohort touch (Email #2) with her personal-frame paragraph. Laurence signs any touch carrying practitioner-voice content.
What this is not. Not the full Q4 email calendar (that is /q4-content-calendar). Not the founding-donor stewardship cadence (that is /founding-donor-launch). This is the seven touches that fire in the first 9 days of live operation. Nothing more.
Companion pages. /launch-90-days (parent) · /q4-content-calendar (full cadence) · /founding-donor-launch (donor stewardship) · /launch-dashboard (metrics) · /launch-reactive-playbook (scenarios) · /sprint-56-review (index).
Compliance envelope. Every email preserves: ABN, ACN, ACL 387398, mediation disclosure sentence, complaints and privacy links, Y1 audited numbers verbatim when cited, dignity floor. No beneficiaries are named or identified in any email or resulting donor paragraph. Voice-carrying paragraphs ship with [voice-check pending] markers until the Sprint 55.2 substitution machinery lands.
Reading a card. Header names the touch number and send-time. Meta block names audience, owner, gate, and any hard dependencies. Subject line is the exact string. The scaffold is the body draft with voice-fill positions marked. Corrina finalises Monday 09:15–14:00; Carla or the relevant domain signer approves by EOD Mon; send fires on the scheduled day/time.
Today, 1 October 2026, Life Without Debt goes live as a registered Australian charity.
Most launch emails would open with a vision. Ours opens with numbers. 31 cases. $1.82 million in debt resolved. 23 days on average. 52% reduction in psychological distress. 87 cents of every dollar goes to direct-service mediation. That is the pilot — audited — that Life Without Debt now scales.
[Lisa + Laurence co-founder voice paragraph pending · scaffold ships without direct quotes until Sprint 55.2 substitution]
Debt mediation for Australians facing a terminal diagnosis is not debt relief. It is a licensed practice, performed by Credit Mediation Services under Australian Credit Licence No. 387398. LWD funds the mediation; the licensed practitioners at CMS do the work. Laurence Mackay, LWD co-founder, has been that licensed practitioner for thirty years.
The pilot's outcomes are past results. Individual outcomes vary. Mediation is not debt discharge. But when it works — and it worked in 31 out of 31 pilot cases — a family's last months change in kind, not just in degree.
You are on this list because you asked to hear when we went live. We went live today. If you would like to fund a case, you can do so at lifewithoutdebt.org.au/donate. If you would like to refer someone, our clinician pathway opens next week.
Thank you for being here at the start.
— Corrina, on behalf of the LWD triad
Yesterday, 1 October, Life Without Debt went live as a charity.
You are hearing from me first, not because that is the marketing plan, but because the marketing plan does not exist without you. Before there was a charity there were donors. There were people who wrote cheques for a pilot that had no legal entity yet, on the strength of what Laurence was doing and what we said we would build.
[Lisa's personal-frame paragraph pending · her voice, her framing of "we started this together." Substitution machinery from Sprint 55 will land the register-specific replacement.]
The pilot — 31 cases, $1.82 million resolved, 23 days on average, 52% K10 drop, 87 cents on the dollar to direct service — that is what your money did. Every one of those cases is a person we are not naming and never will name, but they are real and their families are real and what changed in their last months changed because of you.
What happens next: I would like to keep you close. Not as donors on a list — as founders. Over the next 90 days, you will hear from me at 30, 60, and 90 days with a snapshot of what the first quarter looked like. No asks in those touches. Just what happened.
Thank you for the leap.
— Lisa
Following the introduction from [Chair], I write to confirm that Life Without Debt went live on 1 October 2026 and is now formally receiving grant enquiries from Private Ancillary Funds and Community Ancillary Funds.
The foundations outreach pack — audited pilot data, mediation-practice attribution, funding case, six-week engagement window through to 12 November — is available at lifewithoutdebt.org.au/foundations-outreach-pack.
Short summary of the pilot Y1: 31 cases, $1.82 million in debt resolved, 23-day average resolution, 52% average K10 psychological distress reduction, $1,840 average cost per case, 87 cents of every dollar going to direct-service mediation. Individual outcomes vary; these describe past pilot results only.
Debt mediation is performed by Credit Mediation Services under Australian Credit Licence No. 387398. LWD funds the work; CMS's licensed practitioners perform the mediation. Our DGR Item 1 endorsement application is in progress; ACNC registration is pending. Tax-deductibility from the DGR endorsement date will be confirmed in writing.
I would welcome an initial call in the next fortnight at your convenience.
Kind regards,

Life Without Debt went live on 1 October 2026 as a registered Australian charity funding licensed debt mediation for Australians with a terminal diagnosis. The mediation itself is performed by Credit Mediation Services under Australian Credit Licence No. 387398, where I have practised for the past thirty years.
The MOU pack for [organisation] — setting out the referral pathway, information-sharing envelope, and the composite case-pattern data from the audited pilot — lands in your inbox this Wednesday. Full details at lifewithoutdebt.org.au/health-referrer-mou-pack and the per-target brief at [/referrer-mou-*].
I welcome an initial call at your convenience.

Co-founder, Life Without Debt
Licensed practitioner, Credit Mediation Services (ACL 387398)
Life Without Debt went live on 1 October 2026. If you work in palliative care in Australia, this pathway may matter for a small number of the patients on your list.
The pattern. A patient receives a terminal diagnosis. Alongside the medical trajectory sits an unresolved debt — a home loan they cannot service, credit card debt that predates the illness, a personal guarantee on a small-business loan. That debt sits between the patient and dignity in their last months. Left unresolved, it lands on the family after the patient dies.
The pathway. Referral to LWD triggers a case-review call with a licensed mediation practitioner from Credit Mediation Services (ACL 387398). Where the case is suitable, LWD funds the mediation; the CMS practitioner performs it. Y1 pilot: 31 cases across similar populations, average resolution 23 days, 52% reduction in K10 psychological distress score, 87 cents of every dollar to direct service. Individual outcomes vary; these are past pilot results.
Composite case pattern (labelled composite; no beneficiaries are named or identified): patient with metastatic diagnosis, ~$140k unsecured debt across three lenders, ~8 months prognosis. Referral to LWD. Case-review call within 5 business days. Mediation over 21 days. Outcome: debt structured to zero recovery from the estate, patient's remaining months free of collections contact.
The MOU pack for referrer organisations is at lifewithoutdebt.org.au/health-referrer-mou-pack. Individual referrals may be initiated at lifewithoutdebt.org.au/referrer.
Debt mediation is not debt discharge. Mediation is a licensed practice performed under ACL 387398. LWD does not guarantee outcomes. Complaints and privacy: /complaints and /privacy.
Kind regards,
The team at Life Without Debt
Following the media release of 1 October announcing the launch of Life Without Debt (a new Australian charity funding licensed debt mediation for Australians with a terminal diagnosis), this note offers background, the audited Y1 pilot data, and direct contact.
What LWD does. LWD funds licensed debt-mediation cases for terminally-diagnosed Australians. The mediation is performed by Credit Mediation Services under Australian Credit Licence No. 387398. LWD does not itself perform mediation. This is a licensed practice, not debt relief and not debt cancellation.
Y1 audited pilot (pre-launch). 31 cases. $1.82 million in debt resolved. 23-day average resolution. 52% average reduction in K10 psychological distress score. $1,840 average cost per case. 87 cents of every dollar to direct-service mediation. Individual outcomes vary; these are past pilot results and are not a guarantee of individual future outcomes. No beneficiaries are named or identified.
The founders. Laurence Mackay — co-founder, licensed mediation practitioner under ACL 387398, thirty years' practice. Lisa [Surname] — co-founder. [Chair] — board chair.
Journalist contact. Chair is on record for interviews on the funding model and the palliative-population pathway. Laurence Mackay is on record for the mediation-practice pathway. Please route interview requests to media@lifewithoutdebt.org.au and we will confirm a slot within 24 hours.
What we will not do. We will not name or identify any beneficiary. We will not share case-specific details even in composite form without written approval from an editor. We do not guarantee outcomes.
Kind regards,
Corrina [Surname]
Operations, Life Without Debt
Directors and advisors —
Life Without Debt has been a live charity for 8 full days. This roll-up covers what shipped, what landed, and what queued for Week 2. Written internally; do not forward outside the board and advisory circle without checking with Corrina first.
What shipped. Launch-day website live 1 Oct 09:00 AEDT. Six of the seven planned launch-week emails sent to their audiences on schedule. Media release out to ~50 contacts; [X] pickups tracked so far. Referrer MOU packs delivered to all five per-target contacts (PCA, MND, PHN North/South/Metro). Laurence's first LinkedIn post live Tue 6 Oct.
What landed — the numbers so far. [Metrics slot: subscriber growth Week 1, discovery-call bookings, media pickups, LinkedIn engagement, foundations-outreach response tally, referrer-target response tally, donation attribution stack status.] Full metrics at /launch-dashboard.
What we caught in flight. [Reactive-playbook incidents fired, if any — see /launch-reactive-playbook. If none: "no scenarios triggered in Week 1."]
Week 2 plan. Practitioner-authority anchor week — Laurence's LinkedIn cadence, referrer landing page enhanced with the composite case pattern, palliative-sector email sequence, foundation follow-ups. Full week-by-week detail at /launch-90-days.
Compliance envelope holding. Four markers on every send. Verbatim exclude phrase honoured. Y1 numbers cited verbatim in every send that referenced them. No beneficiaries named. Complaints and privacy in every footer.
Any concerns route to Corrina by Sunday EOD; the Monday review pack lands 09:00.
Kind regards,
[Chair]
The seven touches above fire across nine days. Corrina works this routine every day of launch week without deviation. If a step fails on a given day, the send holds until the next 24-hour window; it does not go out uncleared.
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| Sun EOD prior | All 7 emails staged in the send platform. All 4 compliance markers verified on each. Y1 numbers verbatim where cited. Complaints/privacy footer on every. Segment lists loaded and verified. |
| Send-day 08:00 | Corrina reads the day's email end-to-end one more time. Checks links (every URL clicks through). Confirms from-line and reply-to. Confirms UTM parameters resolve correctly at the donate-flow if applicable. |
| Send-day 08:30 | Domain-line signer confirms in-thread: "cleared to send." No send fires without this in-thread confirmation. |
| Send-day scheduled hour | Send fires. Corrina present at desk for the first 30 minutes to catch any bounce-rate spike, spam-complaint spike, or reply-of-concern. |
| Send-day +2 hours | Corrina checks reply inbox. Any reply flagged as complaint, media enquiry, or compliance concern routed to the relevant domain line same-day. |
| Send-day EOD | Open-rate and click-rate captured. Rolled into the next Monday's review pack. Any performance below the /launch-reactive-playbook Scenario 3 trigger threshold flagged to Carla. |
Voice-fill queue for launch week. Emails 1 (co-founder paragraph), 2 (Lisa personal paragraph), 4 (Laurence opening paragraph) each carry a [voice-check pending] marker. If Sprint 55.2 voice-capture has not returned by Sun 27 Sep EOD, all three emails ship with the generic scaffold. Voice-fill via the Sprint 55 substitution machinery lands the register-specific replacement in a future send iteration; the launch-week send itself is not held.
